Referees Next Course In 2017!

GDFRA are conducting its second referees course of 2016 at Merrylands Bowling and Sports Club, Oxford Street, Merrylands commencing on Monday 27th February, 2017 beginning at 6.00 pm (registration at 5.45 pm) and finishing at 9.30 pm for Session 1 (Theory).  Sessions 2 and 3 are also theory sessions on Monday 6th March and 13th March, 2017 (6.00 pm to 9.30 pm).  Session 4 is a practical one and will be conducted on Monday 20th March, 2017 commencing at 6.00 pm and finishing around 9.30 pm.  The cost varies for seniors and participants under 18 and includes all course materials, membership to GDFRA and all equipment required to referee (see flyer). 


In order to complete the Level 4 course, candidates who are looking to become referees within the GDFRA must first complete the FFA Laws of the Game online course.  This course is FREE to anyone and can be completed in your own time, with candidates who successfully complete the course receiving a certificate online as proof of completing the course

Pre-requisite Level 4 Online Course - cover all the Laws of Football:

6. The Assistant Referees' Duties
7. The Duration of the Match
8. The Start and Restart of Play
9. The Ball In and Out of Play
10. The Method of Scoring
11. Offside
12. Fouls and Misconduct
13. Free Kicks
14. The Penalty Kick
15. The Throw In
16. The Goal Kick
17. The Corner Kick

Sessions 1, 2 & 3 - Level 4 Modules.           

Working through and completion of modules in the Level 4 program.

Session 4 - Practical session covering positioning, signaling, use of flags, appointments and Granville District Soccer Football Association Rules and Procedures.

Note: To complete a Level 4 Referee's Course you must pass the online course and complete all the modules together with the practical session.  It is expected that candidates study their law books and ask relevant questions when any points of the Level 4 Course are not understood.  

Attending the course and listening will not be enough.
